Webs in honor of Spider Woman

Spider Woman lore in ancient stories of the Native Southwest stir my imagination. The thoughts of connection - both nourishing and entrapping - define our relationships. I started building webs - often 30 feet in diameter - of four strand braids. I installed and photographed hundreds of sites from Hawaii to Quebec. When by-passers lingered , it was fun to engage in conversation about the webs, the stories, and the process of making and installing them.
